These terms apply when you create an account at app.herapress.com, connect a site to it, or buy or use Hera Backup Pro, Hera Backup Hub or Hera Site Monitor (together, "the service"). They are an agreement between you and HeraPress, named above ("we", "us"). Our Data Processing Agreement is part of them. By creating an account, connecting a site or buying a plan, you accept them.

Who sells to you

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries about orders and payments, and handles returns. Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to your purchase, and your receipt comes from Paddle. Questions about the service itself come to us.

What you get

Without a plan, a free account gives you:

  • Hera Site Monitor for up to 3 live sites: a check every 5 minutes that the site answers, a screenshot of its home page on desktop and mobile once a day and after updates, alerts by email and to one Telegram chat per site, and 7 days of history;
  • your account at app.herapress.com, where you manage your sites.

A Hera Backup plan adds, for as long as its subscription is active:

  • Hera Backup Pro, an add-on to the free Hera Backup plugin, which it needs on the same site, for the number of sites your plan includes;
  • updates to Hera Backup Pro, and support by ticket;
  • storage in Hera Backup Hub, of the size your plan includes.

A Hera Site Monitor plan adds, for as long as its subscription is active: more sites, a check every minute, screenshots of more pages every 6 hours, longer history, more Telegram chats per site, PDF reports (with your own logo on the Freelancer and Agency plans), and support by ticket.

The plans, their prices and what each includes are on the pricing page.

The software licence

Our plugins are licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. A subscription gives you updates, support, Hera Backup Hub storage and what our servers do for your sites, for its term. Hera Site Monitor is the same plugin on every plan: a plan changes what our servers do for your sites, not the plugin.

Sites

  • Every WordPress installation is a site, including one installed in a folder of a domain: example.com/shop and example.com/blog are two sites.
  • Hera Backup: a site counts once the licence is activated on it, and staging and local copies count like any other site. When all of a licence's sites are in use, it cannot be activated on another one.
  • Hera Site Monitor: a site counts while it is connected. Local and staging sites do not count. We tell them apart by their address: for example names ending in .local or .test, or starting with staging. or dev..
  • A larger plan covers more sites.

Billing and renewal

  • Hera Backup plans are yearly subscriptions. Hera Site Monitor plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions; a year costs as much as ten months. Prices are in US dollars, and Paddle adds tax at checkout where it applies.
  • You can hold one Hera Backup plan and one Hera Site Monitor plan at a time.
  • A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and Paddle charges the payment method you gave it, until you cancel.
  • You can move to another plan of the same product at any time, and the renewal date stays the same. Moving to a larger plan charges the difference for the rest of the current period straight away; if that payment fails, your plan does not change. Moving to a smaller plan leaves the unused part of what you paid as a credit with Paddle, which goes toward your next renewal. Credits are not paid out.

Cancelling

Cancel any time from your account at app.herapress.com, which opens Paddle's customer portal. A cancelled subscription is not renewed: your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and you are not charged again. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Hera Backup Hub storage add-ons

Each add-on adds 10 GB of Hera Backup Hub storage to your account, up to ten add-ons. Add-ons are part of your Hera Backup plan's subscription: they renew with it, and they end when it ends.

Your backups in Hera Backup Hub

  • Your backups are your data. We store them so that you can restore your sites from them, and use them for nothing else.
  • Backups made by a schedule are not encrypted. Backups you start yourself can be encrypted with a password that only you hold. Without it, neither you nor we can restore an encrypted backup.
  • When your backups take more space than your plan and add-ons include, Hera Backup Hub stops accepting uploads. If they still take too much space 30 days later, the oldest backups are deleted until they fit.
  • When your plan ends, Hera Backup Hub stops accepting uploads. For 30 days you can still download and restore your backups; we email you before they are deleted, and they are deleted at the end of those 30 days. A new plan within the 30 days keeps them.
  • Deleting your account deletes your backups in Hera Backup Hub.
  • Keep at least one copy of the backups that matter to you somewhere other than Hera Backup Hub.

Hera Site Monitor

  • Our servers open your site's pages from the internet, as a visitor would, to check that they answer and to take screenshots of the pages you choose, and compare each screenshot with the look you approved. The plugin on your site reports events from inside WordPress: PHP errors, updates and changes, failed orders and email sending problems, with email addresses, IP addresses and other personal details removed.
  • Monitoring finds problems and tells you about them. It does not fix them or prevent them, and an alert can be late or not arrive, for example when an email or Telegram service is slow.
  • A screenshot shows a page as any visitor sees it. If a page shows personal data, so does its screenshot: choose pages without it where you can. Our Data Processing Agreement covers this data.
  • How long history and screenshots are kept: for the period of history your plan includes (7 days on the free plan), and the approved look of each page we still take screenshots of, for as long as it is the approved one. On a plan with a longer history, every screenshot is kept for 30 days, and after that only those that showed a change, plus the latest and the approved one of each page. When you disconnect a site, we keep the latest and the approved screenshot of each page for 30 days, so that monitoring picks up where it stopped if you connect it again; you can delete them at once from your dashboard. When a plan ends, its longer history is kept for 30 more days.
  • Anyone shown on a screenshot can ask us to delete the screenshots of that page. We do it within 30 days and tell you.
  • A logo you put on your PDF reports must be one you have the right to use.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details to yourself: you are responsible for what is done with your account. We recommend turning on two-step sign-in in your profile. Give us an email address you read, because that is where we send what we need to tell you about your plans, sites and backups. An account whose email address is never confirmed is deleted after 30 days, unless it has a plan, a payment or a connected site. A connected site that has not been in touch with us for 30 days is disconnected.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to store or send anything you have no right to, or anything unlawful or harmful. Connect only sites that you run or that you have permission to monitor and back up. Do not try to get around the limits of your plan, share a licence beyond the sites it covers, or interfere with the service or with other customers. We may suspend or close an account that does, after telling you why, unless the law or the risk to others does not allow us to wait.

Personal data

Our Privacy Policy describes what we do with data about you. When the service handles personal data that your sites hold or show, in backups, screenshots and site events, we act on your behalf, under our Data Processing Agreement.

Availability and changes

We run the service with care, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of faults. We may change or improve it. If a change takes away something your plan includes, we tell you before it happens.

Responsibility

A backup is only useful if it can be restored, so test a restore from time to time. The software is provided as it is, without any warranty, as the GNU General Public License states. Our total liability to you for anything to do with the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or takes away a right you have under the consumer protection law of your country.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects a subscription you have, we tell you by email before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then.

Contact

Questions about these terms go to the contact address above. Questions about an order or a payment can also go to Paddle, at paddle.net.
