Order storage (HPOS)
WooCommerce can keep orders in its High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) tables or in the older WordPress posts table. This article explains how the plugin works with each.
Both storage types are supported
The plugin declares compatibility with High-Performance Order Storage and works the same way with either storage. The Custom Email column, the filter links, the bulk action and the Custom Email box on the order screen all behave as described in this documentation, whichever one your store uses.
You can see which one your store uses under WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features, in the Order data storage setting. Older WooCommerce versions call it Data storage for orders.
Switching storage
The sent status and the history of each order are saved with the order itself, as order data. When WooCommerce copies your orders from one storage to the other, that data goes with them.
