Deactivating and deleting the plugin

This article explains what stays and what goes when you deactivate the plugin, and when you delete it.

Deactivating

Deactivating removes nothing. The Order Emails menu, the Custom Email column and the buttons disappear until you activate the plugin again, and everything comes back as it was: your templates, and the sent status and history of every order.

Deleting

Deleting the plugin from Plugins → Installed Plugins removes all of its data:

  • every email template, whether published, draft or in the Trash, with its subject, heading, type and attachment setting;
  • the sent status and the history on every order, in both order storage types.

These stay:

  • the private order notes the plugin added, since they are ordinary order notes;
  • files you attached to templates, which stay in your Media Library;
  • the emails your customers already received.

There is no option to keep the templates when the plugin is deleted, so copy their text somewhere else first if you might need them again.

On a WordPress multisite network, deleting the plugin removes this data from every site in the network.
