Seeing which orders got an email
The plugin keeps track of which orders have had an email from it, so your staff don’t email the same order twice by mistake. This article explains the sent status, the two filter links on the Orders list and the history on each order.
Sent and Not sent
Each order shows Sent or Not sent in the Custom Email column of WooCommerce → Orders and in the Custom Email box on the order screen.
- An order is Sent once at least one email from this plugin was sent for it, whichever template it was.
- Only successful sends count. A failed send changes nothing, and test emails never touch an order.
- Once Sent, an order stays Sent. There is no button to set it back.
Hover over Sent to see the latest email, for example “Last sent: Delivery address check (September 30, 2026 10:15 am)”.
Show only sent or unsent orders
Above the Orders list, next to the status links such as All and Processing, the plugin adds two links with a count for each:
- Custom Email Sent lists the orders that have had at least one email.
- Custom Email Not Sent lists the orders that have had none.
The status belongs to each order, not to the customer: a customer emailed about one order still shows Not sent on their other orders. The counts cover orders in every status, and they can be a little higher than the number of orders the list then shows, because they also count orders the list hides, such as checkouts that were never completed. Use Custom Email Not Sent before a bulk send to leave out orders that were already emailed; see Sending a template to many orders at once.

The history of each order
The History list in the order’s Custom Email box shows every email sent for that order: the template name, the date and time, and the staff member who sent it. Each send also adds a private order note. See Sending an email from an order.
