Order storage (HPOS)

WooCommerce can keep orders in its High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) tables or in the older WordPress posts table. This article explains how the plugin works with each.

Both storage types are supported

The plugin declares compatibility with High-Performance Order Storage and reads orders only through WooCommerce, so it works the same way with either storage. The reports, the Affiliate column on the Orders list and the affiliate emails behave as described in this documentation, whichever one your store uses.

You can see which one your store uses under WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features, in the Order data storage setting. Older WooCommerce versions call it Data storage for orders.

Switching storage

The plugin keeps its own index of the orders that used a coupon, with order IDs that do not change when WooCommerce moves orders from one storage to the other. There is nothing to do in the plugin when you switch.
