Deactivating and deleting the plugin
This article explains what stays and what goes when you deactivate the plugin, and when you delete it.
Deactivating
Deactivating removes nothing. The Affiliate Reports menu and the Affiliate columns disappear, and no emails are sent, until you activate the plugin again.
While it is deactivated, the plugin does not see new orders or changes to existing ones. So deactivating marks the report index as not built: after you activate the plugin again, the report screens ask you to run Rebuild index under Affiliate Reports → Settings, and payments wait until you have. See The report index.
Deleting
Deleting the plugin from Plugins → Installed Plugins always removes:
- the report index;
- the plugin’s settings, and the settings of its two emails;
- the note on each order of which affiliates were already emailed about it.
These stay, because you typed them in by hand and they exist nowhere else:
- the affiliate details and commission rates saved on each coupon;
- the record of payments you made to affiliates.
To remove those as well, tick Also delete the affiliate details and commission rates saved on each coupon, and the record of payments. under Data in Affiliate Reports → Settings, click Save Changes, and then delete the plugin.
Orders, coupons, customers and everything else that belongs to WooCommerce are never touched.
On a WordPress multisite network, deleting the plugin cleans every site in the network, each by its own When deleting the plugin setting.
